Spirent Federal Systems Receives DSS Security Honor

July 5, 2017

Cogswell Award

Pleasant Grove, UT-July 5, 2017-Spirent Federal Systems received the prestigious James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award from the Defense Security Service (DSS) in an award ceremony at the NCMS training seminar on June 22. More than 13,500 defense contractors were eligible to receive this year’s award, and only 36 received the honor.

The Cogswell Award was established in 1966 in honor of Col. James S. Cogswell. Col. Cogswell served as the first chief of industrial security with the DoD. “We are extremely proud to receive this award. We have always taken great pride in the security of our facilities. Our Facility Security Officer (FSO), Lisa Winnie, and her entire security team are conscientious and dedicated to the highest security standards,” said Ellen Hall, CEO, Spirent Federal Systems.

To be considered for the Cogswell Award facilities must have a minimum of two consecutive years with superior industrial security ratings. The DSS look at factors that demonstrate a facility’s commitment to exceed the basic requirements laid out by the National Industrial Security Program. Facilities that receive the Cogswell award have shown leadership and outstanding achievement related to their facility’s security program.

Spirent Federal has received superior ratings for many consecutive years. Spirent Federal Systems received this year’s Cogswell award, along with technology and defense contractor giants such as General Dynamics, Harris Corporation, Jacobs Technology, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.
