Authorized GPS AES M-Code testing

Validate M-Code functions via AES M-Code protocols for high fidelity secure testing

In order to facilitate greater accuracy and robustness than available in civilian GNSS, the US government has long provided secure signals for authorized users. M-Code is the latest iteration of this process, providing an encrypted and standalone service (unlike the P(Y)-Code). Spirent’s SimMCODE enables authorized users to thoroughly test Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) in repeatable, lab-based environments, using the commercial encryption algorithm, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).

Spirent was the first provider to be approved by the GPS Directorate to provide AES M-Code testing, and continues to lead the way in the implementation of new signals and technologies, such as the development and security approval of Spirent’s latest M-Code solution, SimMNSA, using the Modernized Navstar Security Architecture. SimMNSA is not limited in terms of location, date, time, and other critical testing variables. Generating real M-Code on the fly, with no need to use prerecorded data sets, SimMNSA greatly accelerates the receiver evaluation process.
